Origins

Ilan Benjamin lost half the hearing in his left ear serving in the Israel Defense Forces. He’s been loud in person and on the page ever since. In 2012, after completing his military service, Ilan was accepted into USC’s School of Cinematic Arts. There, he self-published a novel based on his experiences in the IDF, won the John Kearney Sandifer Memorial Cinema Scholarship for his feature noir “Son of Gaza” and signed a development deal with Project Greenlight for an original digital series. Currently a Script Coordinator on FOX’s Lethal Weapon, Ilan continues to write what he knows best: action. His interactive series “Virtual Morality”, produced by Ron Howard and Brian Grazer, culled over +15,000,000 views on YouTube and won the Caucus Television/New Media Award. When he’s not writing, you’ll often find Ilan wandering the woods. Even a soldier-turned-screenwriter likes his quiet.
